Alexei Mateevici made an enormous contribution to the development of Moldovan culture and Moldova as a whole. What can be said about the country's anthem, which he wrote himself, called 'Limba noastră' (Our Language). In his house, organized as a museum, you can see a huge part of the poet's life, as the museum workers tried to recreate and preserve the style and arrangement of objects as they were at the poet's.
