Leon Bocancea, concerned about the fate of the inhabitants of Hârjauca, sold cheaply a part of his land, so that the peasants who were too close to the monastery there could move here. But the peasants refused to move. Bocancea Monastery
The territory of Bocancea Monastery was empty, and Archbishop Anthony decided to use it wisely and kindly. He founded another monastic household here.
In 1872, a small stone church appeared here, built and named in honor of Peter and Paul. In 1920, the monastery began to be called Bocancea Monastery, as people remembered that the former owner of these places was called that. The name "Bocancea Monastery" was fixed over time.
During the reconstruction period, after World War I, but before the start of World War II, the skete separated, ceased to depend on Hârjauca and became an independent and full-fledged monastery.
