Casa rurală La Bunica Clava ("Grandma Clava's House") is one of the new tourist destinations in southern Moldova. The guesthouse in the village of Vădeni was opened by Viorica Ciobanu, who inherited her parents' house, built in 1961. Before Viorica began working in tourism, she taught Romanian language at a village school.
As you step through the threshold of the old house, it feels as if time has stood still, and the last 60 years have left no trace inside. Traditional carpets, old photo albums, a small library and handmade towels create the effect of full immersion in the rural life of the past.
The house can be booked on Booking.com or on the local tourism platform cahul.travel from 1000 lei per room.
At the guesthouse you can not only stay overnight but also get to know the gastronomy of the southern region.
Southern Moldova surprises with its picturesque places, and the true pearl of the region is the Lower Prut Nature Reserve, which is on the UNESCO list of protected sites. The villages in this area have great tourist potential, capable of attracting guests from all over the world.
