✍️About this place
The A. S. Pushkin Museum-House is considered one of the main cultural attractions of Chisinau. We recommend this place to all admirers of the great poet's work and lovers of Russian literature. The poet stayed in this merchant Naumov's guest house in 1820-1823 (at that time, the territory of modern Moldova was called Bessarabia). It was here that Pushkin conceived the idea of the poem "The Caucasian Prisoner", and during his stay in these places, the poet wrote the poem "The Black Shawl". Initially, the museum in one building was opened in 1948, and in 1985, several neighboring buildings and a garden were added to its administration - and the museum complex was formed.
<strong>What to see</strong>
The museum-house presents a rich collection of household items from Pushkin's era, paintings, decorative and applied art, and in addition, there is a photo archive and a library where rare copies of books published during the poet's lifetime are stored. During the last restoration, a new exhibit was also added.
