Some of his first works were translations, including the poem by A.S. Pushkin "The Gypsies" and a collection of works by Antioch Cantemir. The writer is rightfully considered the founder of the Moldovan national fable. A man of diverse talents, he left an invaluable contribution to Moldovan literature. For a long time, a general education school functioned in the family estate of Alexandru Donici.
And in 1976, recognizing the poet's immense contribution to Moldovan literature, the authorities decided to open a museum in his name in the village of Beizîn (now Donici). The estate is dominated by the atmosphere of the early 19th century. In the living room, the interior is in Egyptian style, fashionable furniture of that time, floors are covered with Moldovan hand-embroidered carpets. Unfortunately, among the personal belongings, only a pistol has survived.
