La Castel Gorge, located above the Râcovăț river valley near Gordinești village, is a unique place. This natural wonder, inherited from millions of years of ancient deposits, offers breathtaking landscapes, a rich plant and animal world, and most importantly, the chance to hear local legends related to this place. The name itself leads us to think that a castle once stood here. All that remains of the castle are the rocky heights and memories of a beautiful maiden, once imprisoned within the castle walls. Her parents opposed her engagement to her beloved, and he decided to hide her from her parents in the castle. One day, the castle owner returned from a hunt, a feast was prepared, but something happened deep within the earth, and the castle sank into the ground. Neither the beauty, nor the owner, nor the castle... only the legend that has reached us, and the Râcovăț river flowing pleasantly through the toltras of this place. The "La Castel" landscape reserve occupies a section of the Râcovăț river valley for 5 km.
