Шолданешты - Каньон

Sholdanesti - Canyon - In the eastern part of Sholdanesti, a picturesque canyon 16 km long and 120-160 meters deep begins! It ends at the Dniester River. A tributary of the Dniester, the Chornaya River, flows along the bottom of the canyon, and at the end of the 19th century, a railway section "Balti – Ribnita – Slobodka (Ukraine)" was laid on one of the terraces of the slope. Since ancient times, the population has been extracting building materials - stone and cobblestones - from the rocky slopes of the canyon. Here, lime was also "boiled" as well.
