About this place
Villa Etnica is a tourist complex made up of a comfortable guesthouse in the style of an old boyar manor, where you can spend the night in comfort, the unique eco-restaurant "La Butuc", where the food is a splendid example of tasty and healthy cuisine made from natural, locally sourced products, and a museum with an extensive collection of artefacts displayed in three village houses from the early last century, where you can touch history. Vila ETNICA® is a complex of unique architectural structures on terraces of different levels, situated on the steep bank of the Răut River, at the foot of a rock resembling a sleeping dragon, on the outskirts of the village of Butucenii de Sus, which is part of the unique historical and natural reserve Orheiul Vechi, which has preserved its original natural beauty and traces of ancient civilisations.
Modernity seems not to have touched these places. Life here flows unhurriedly and calmly – as the clouds drift, as the waters of the Răut River flow, as they did a hundred, two hundred and several thousand years ago, when civilisations succeeded one another in these lands – Slavs, Geto-Dacians, Tatars, Turks, as well as the ancestors of today's Moldovans. All of them left their mark on this land.
